Morris Central School has an opening

for a Head Bus Driver starting as soon

as possible. The person will schedule

bus runs and school / sports trips. They

submit payroll for the Transportation

Department to the District Office. The

person is responsible for making sure all

the drivers are up-to-date with all

the New York State requirements. The

person must have a CDL License with

the clearance to drive school buses.

The Head Bus Driver oversees the daily operations of the school districts transportation services to ensure the safe and efficient transport of students. This position supervises bus drivers, monitors routes and schedules, and ensures all vehicles comply with state safety regulations and maintenance standards. The Head Bus Driver assists with driver training, conducts road evaluations, and coordinates with mechanics to address vehicle repairs or inspections. Responsibilities also include maintaining transportation records, scheduling substitute drivers, and communicating with school administrators, parents, and staff regarding transportation concerns. The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a commitment to student safety and reliability. A valid CDL with appropriate endorsements, an excellent driving record, and prior experience in pupil transportation are required. The Head Bus Driver plays a key role in fostering a dependable, safe, and professional transportation department.
