Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Jacksonville, FL 32209 (Florida nursing jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Unit : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg)

Start Date : November 17, 2025

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (3 shifts / week)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1530–$1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in a Med / Surg or acute care setting

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a medical-surgical environment

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans

Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and care goals

Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record (EHR)

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from day one

Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity and patient safety

Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees

Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all hospital safety policies and procedures

Contribute positively to team building and a supportive healthcare work environment

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to advance nursing skills
