Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Wellesley, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations, including full-cycle accounts payable processes and other accounting tasks as assigned. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Handle full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and reconciliation.

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper categorization and accuracy.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations.

Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.

Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks as required to meet project needs.

Utilize accounting software to manage data and streamline processes effectively.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable and general accounting functions.

Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.

Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication abilities to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
