Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Jefferson, NC 28640 (Blue Ridge Mountains)

Healthcare Setting : LDRP Unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 24 / 2025 – End : 2 / 23 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM), manager scheduled

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1590–$1700

Patient Ratios : 1 : 1–2

Weekend Requirement : As determined by department needs

Float Requirement : May float to MedSurg, CNA, secretary, or helping hands roles

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at start)

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced

Strong skills in fetal heart monitoring and autonomy in high-acuity clinical settings

Experience with Centricity and Meditech Magic electronic charting systems preferred

Ability to float to other healthcare units as needed

First-time travel nurses welcome!

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive patient care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases

Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, intervening as necessary

Assist with high-risk and high-acuity cases, demonstrating strong clinical judgment and autonomy

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Float to other units (MedSurg, CNA, secretary, helping hands) as required

Document patient care accurately using Centricity and Meditech Magic systems

Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and families
