Job Summary :
The Distribution Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing electrical power distribution systems. This role involves optimizing network performance, leading projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing technical support. The engineer will work to improve the efficiency and reliability of electrical distribution systems.
Location : Pelham, Alabama, United States
Responsibilities :
- Design and plan electrical power distribution systems, including overhead and underground networks.
 - Prepare system drawings, layouts, and construction documentation.
 - Analyze system performance to optimize efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
 - Perform load flow, fault, and voltage drop analyses.
 - Lead and manage distribution projects from concept to completion.
 - Coordinate with contractors, field crews, and internal stakeholders.
 - Ensure designs and operations adhere to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
 - Identify opportunities for upgrades or replacements of aging infrastructure.
 - Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities.
 - Conduct technical reviews to maintain high standards of quality.
 - Maintain accurate records, system drawings, and as-built documentation.
 - Enforce safety protocols.
 - Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
 - Provide technical support and solutions to internal teams and external customers.
 - Address system performance issues and respond to inquiries.
 
Required Skills & Certifications :
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.5 10 years of professional experience in distribution system design, management, and optimization.Proficiency in distribution system design tools (e.g., CYME, Milsoft, AutoCAD, GIS-based tools).Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations (IEEE, NEC, NESC).Experience with project management software and methodologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.High attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.Ability to adapt to evolving technology and industry practices.Preferred Skills & Certifications :
