Position Summary : JMT is seeking a Construction Manager to be responsible for managing Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant construction or renovation projects.
Compensation for this position is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain excellent relationships with clients, building occupants, architects / engineers, and contractorsManage and coordinate inspection staffManage project schedule from inception to close outRun project job-site meetingsReview contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specificationsReview and approve contractor monthly requisitions and invoicesEfficient change order management and cost controlReport on project issues and provide status updatesPerform other duties as may be requiredRequired Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skillsEffective leadership skills for managing and mentoring field staffAbility to take charge and effectively manage contractors to meet project scheduleKnowledge of OSHA safety regulationsThe ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environmentAbility to evaluate contractor provided construction CPM schedules, including logic and sequencingRequired Experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction ManagementMinimum of eight years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Construction Management Representative, Owner's Representative or project managerMultiple construction trades and close coordination with the Owner on construction issuesKnowledge and experience working with Municipalities on project costs and budgets, processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, and inspectors daily reportsExperience using project management software (Unifier, Procore, eBuilder, etc) to communicate construction progress and process documentationExperience reviewing engineering designs, contractor shop drawings and / or vendor specifications and plans, or similar, to determine constructability and practicality of proposed work and adherence to established standards and requirementsPreferred Experience
Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Project Management Professional (PMP)Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety trainingCommissioning and outage experience with water / wastewater plants5 years wastewater facilities construction management experienceWorking Conditions
Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat / cold, wet / humid, and dry / arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required. Travel required.
