Job Description

The Role : As a Temporary Housing Assistant (October - April), you will play a key role in maintaining safe, sanitary, and comfortable housing for our employee residents. During this seasonal period, many employees transition to different geographic work areas or seasonal layoffs, while our Spreckels Crossing housing units undergo deep-cleaning, sanitizing, and re-furnishing. Your work ensures that every housing unit is fully prepared with essentials such as linens, appliances, and household items, contributing to a welcoming environment for our employee residents on the upcoming harvest season.

Location(s) : Salinas, CA, Huron, CA

Areas of Responsibility :

  • Conduct inspections and report maintenance needs to the Housing Supervisor.
  • Support with daily and deep cleaning of units, common areas, and amenities.
  • Help with minor repairs, touch-up painting, and upkeep of housing facilities.
  • Distribute supplies, linens, and appliances to units.
  • Assist with moving and setting up furniture, appliances, and household equipment.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and eff ectively as part of daily responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • At least 1 year of experience in a related role (housing, facilities, or similar).
  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working directly with employees or housing tenants.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
