As an hourly, shop-floor Operations Team Lead on the Assembly Team, you will coordinate people, processes, and materials to deliver safe, high-quality output—bridging English and Spanish across the crew.

Role overview
- Direct daily work for assigned personnel to hit production goals while advancing long-term projects from the Shift Leader.

- Ensure mechanics are trained and aligned to safety, quality, and production standards; maintain open, timely communication.
Key accountabilities
Safety leadership : enforce rules, PPE, and safe behaviors.Continuous improvement : champion LEAN, 5S , and waste reduction.Coverage : back up team members and the Shift Supervisor as needed.Work assignment : delegate based on skill and responsibility; remove obstacles.Performance management : set objectives with the Team Leader and give quarterly feedback; assist with annual reviews.Capability building : deliver technical training; own the department skills matrix.Onboarding : assign Buddy & Mentor; provide weekly follow-up for new hires.Incident response : support detailed accident investigations and corrective actions.Production flow : anticipate needs from Daily / Weekly Schedule; ensure materials, resources, and information are ready for mechanics.Quality discipline : hold the line on standards and process control.Communication : lead toolbox talks and team meetings; run effective huddles.Standard work : follow Shift Leader Standard Work; complete other assigned tasks.Coaching : address gaps in safety, quality, or productivity with timely counseling.Sustainability : proactively cut waste, energy, and water use.Innovation : surface ideas to improve methods, systems, and services; convert concepts into business value.Reporting structure
Reports to the Shift Supervisor as part of the department leadership team; in the Supervisor’s absence, you are responsible for running the department.
Qualifications
Supervisory experience leading teams with strong delegation and follow-up; sound independent judgment.Demonstrated success developing high-performing teams; ability to mentor senior mechanics.Bilingual communicator with a working command of English (written / spoken) and fluency to support Spanish-speaking team members.Clear, professional writing (procedures, documentation, emails) and confident verbal communication with coworkers and customers.Comfort leading meetings and delivering presentations.Strong problem solving with Continuous Improvement tools.Systems knowledge : Word, Excel (intermediate—data updates, metrics), databases, PeopleSoft, Internet, and ADI.Deep knowledge of BAC models / parts; versed in procedures, policies, and ISO instructions for quality.Ability to provide technical input to engineers and initiate engineering change requests.Core proficiencies

Exposures include elevated noise levels associated with a manufacturing environment, fluctuations in temperature ambient conditions as well as intermittent exposure to the weather in and about the yard and dock areas. Occasional weekend work is typical, and availability is expected for any of the three operating shifts.
