Job Description

As a Staff Backend Engineer at Hebbia, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that support our AI-driven products and services. You will own major system components from design through deployment. You will have close feedback loops with users and with our Customer Success team. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers and domain experts to architect scalable systems, implement robust software components, and ensure the reliability and performance of our software platforms. Your technical expertise, leadership abilities, and problem-solving skills will contribute to the success of our AI products and shape the future of our technology stack.

Our team works in person 5 days a week at our SoHo office in NYC.

Responsibilities

• Own critical system components : Take complex requirements and turn them into robust, scaled solutions that solve real customer needs.
• Unlock O(1) universal indexing : Build and iterate on our high-scale document build system that enables constant time latency for indexing any content in the world, regardless of data volume.
• Drive performance optimization : Architect and implement performance-tuning solutions to ensure our systems operate efficiently at scale, minimizing latency and maximizing throughput across millions of documents.
• Meet with users : Serve as a deployed engineer to build customer empathy that enables us to create innovative solutions that drive meaningful value .
• Mentor and guide : Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Who You Are

Compensation

In consideration of market analysis and relevant factors, the salary range for this position is set between $190,000 and $250,000. However, adjustments outside of this range may be considered for candidates whose qualifications significantly differ from those outlined in the job description. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in our equity plan and benefits program. Benefits include, but not limited to : Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits, daily catered lunch, and unlimited PTO.
