Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Product Repair / Modification Technician to support the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) in Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Position Responsibilities :
- Performs assigned duties as an individual or as a member of a cross-functional High-Performance Work Team
- Operates computing equipment to access job information
- Uses various types of power tools, hand tools, and torque tools
- Performs all elements of mechanical or electrical assembly from detailed work instructions, including reworks and repairs
- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft electrical components of moderate difficulty
- Posses general shop skills including Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements, ESD, and contamination control of precision clean systems
- Performs routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults
- Performs validation / verification testing of systems and components
- Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications
- Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle
- Performs operations utilizing Self-Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCAPE) PPE
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtimeMore than 1 year of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprintsAbility to lift / carry up to 35 pounds; push / pull using up to 45 pounds of force; and reach overhead up to six hours per dayMore than 1 year of experience in aerospace production and maintenanceAbility to obtain and maintain SCAPE Cat 1 and Cat 4 certification health requirementsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :
More than 1 year of experience with hardware integration for spacecraft, missile or aircraft systemsMore than 1 year of experience working with various material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and cranesExperience with spacecraft hardware integrationTop Secret Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required)Technical Trade School (ABET Certified preferred) and / or Aerospace Technology Technician Certification / TrainingCurrent SCAPE Cat 1 and Cat 4 certificationDrug Free Workplace : Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
Additional Information :
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.This position is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.This position requires travel up to 25% of the time.The candidate must be able to work any shift assigned.Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
