About the Job

Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled, motivated, and versatile Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our Rotating Specialty Team. This role is designed for experienced CVT who excels in a dynamic environment and enjoys working collaboratively across a wide range of specialties. As a Rotating Specialty Technician, you'll float between departments including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Anesthesia, Radiology, Emergency & Critical Care (ECC), Exotics, and Primary Care, providing essential technical support as assigned. If you are a confident multitasker with strong anesthesia skills and a passion for delivering high-quality care across varied disciplines, this position offers you the opportunity to let your versatility shine and make a meaningful impact every day.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide expert technical support across multiple specialty departments on a rotating basis
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia for both surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
  • Support the Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) department in the triage / admit role during periods of specialty downtime
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and execute veterinary-prescribed procedures
  • Assist with obtaining patient histories, delivering discharge instructions, and educating clients with compassion and clarity
  • Maintain strict adherence to hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and best practices for patient care and handling
  • Keep clinical workspaces clean, organized, and fully stocked
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians, fellow technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with pet owners regarding care plans, treatment options, and procedures
  • Flexibly adapt to changes in daily assignments and provide immediate support in high-need areas
  • Participate in training new staff, continuing education initiatives, and hospital-wide events as needed

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs
  • Comfortable in a high-energy, emotionally dynamic environment
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required
  • Qualifications

    Required :

  • Current Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting, including exposure to multiple specialties
  • Demonstrated proficiency in anesthesia techniques and familiarity with emergency protocols
  • Exceptional adaptability and the ability to work independently across various departments
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Capable of multitasking efficiently and staying calm under pressure in a high-volume setting
  • Passion for providing empathetic, high-quality care to patients and their families
  • Flexible availability and willingness to adjust to last-minute schedule changes as hospital needs arise
