Job Description
We are recruiting an Interventional Cardiologist for a full time role in New Jersey and New York. The physician will provide consults in an ambulatory practice and in skilled nursing facilities. The Interventional Cardiologist will collaborate closely with wound care teams to optimize limb preservation and wound healing outcomes.
Job responsibilities :
- Provide on site consults and follow up visits for residents of skilled nursing facilities and hospitals across assigned service areas.
- Provide on site consultations and follow up visits for patients in multiple ambulatory practices.
- Interpret noninvasive vascular studies including arterial and venous duplex ultrasound, ankle brachial index and toe brachial index, pulse volume recordings, and related physiologic tests.
- Perform endovascular procedures including revascularization for critical limb ischemia, diagnostic angiography, angioplasty, stenting, and atherectomy as clinically indicated.
- Thrombectomy and thrombolysis for acute limb ischemia
- Below-the-knee and pedal loop interventions
- Endovascular treatment of chronic total occlusions (CTOs)
- Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)
- Document clinical encounters in the electronic health record with accuracy and completeness that supports medical necessity, coding, and payer requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning with wound care nurses, physicians, and facility staff to support wound healing and limb salvage.
- Adhere to sterile technique, safety protocols, and quality assurance processes for all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Travel between facilities and procedure locations as scheduled by the practice.
Schedule and Practice Settings :
Full time weekday schedule with minimal call and no weekends. Clinical work will include on site facility rounding, noninvasive study interpretation, and endovascular procedures performed in a variety of settings that may include outpatient ambulatory practices, skilled nursing facilities, an office based lab, and an ambulatory surgery center.Team Support :
Clinical support includes registered vascular technologists, registered nurses, and medical scribes.Required :
MD or DO with completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Interventional CardiologyBoard certified Interventional Cardiology.RPVI certification (preferred)Unrestricted New Jersey and New York medical licenses or eligibility to obtain.DEA and New Jersey CDS registration or eligibility.Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with CMS coverage and compliance requirements.Valid driver license and reliable transportation for regional travel.Preferred Experience :
Prior experience caring for patients in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, or post acute settings.Interest in limb preservation and collaboration with wound care programs.Familiarity with advanced wound imaging and perfusion assessment tools.Compensation and Benefits :
