Since 1985, BHCHP's mission has been to ensure unconditionally equitable and dignified access to the highest quality health care for all individuals and families experiencing homelessness in greater Boston. Over 10,000 homeless individuals are cared for by Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program each year. We are committed to ensuring that every one of these individuals has access to comprehensive health care, from preventative dental care to cancer treatment. Our clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals work in more than 30 locations to serve some of our community's most vulnerableand most resilientcitizens. Job Summary

We are looking to hire a Director of Behavioral Health Operations to provide operational oversight and management over all behavioral health services, including mental health evaluations, substance use treatment, crisis management, group therapy, and consultations with the behavioral health team. In this role you will manage administrative duties, including managing on-call coverage and vacation schedules and participating in Behavioral Health meetings and rounds. Key responsibilities include monitoring the effectiveness and operational optimization of services provided for patients with behavioral health needs, treatment planning, clinical and non-clinical staff supervision. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered services, and supporting achieving and maintaining quality and productivity metrics and goals set out by the team. Responsibilities

• Oversee behavioral health service delivery throughout the program, ensuring excellence in care and sustainable operations.
• Accountable for achieving established performance metrics and targets that align with departmental and organizational objectives and are typically defined in the annual planning process.
• Provide support to BH managers supervising unlicensed and licensed staff as needed, with an emphasis on scheduling, efficiency, enabling access, etc.
• Co-facilitate Safety and Security committee and weekly meetings in conjunction with Director of Security.
• Provide Behavioral Health crisis assistance.
• Support staff with difficult cases and interactions, offering guidance and legal referrals.
• Facilitate regular team meetings with staff.
• Lead recruitment and hiring efforts for behavioral health clinicians and other non-licensed staff as needed.
• Supervise all behavioral health operations to ensure high-quality, client-centered services and effective team performance.
• Provide necessary training such as de-escalation, trauma-informed care, and sexual violence education in collaboration with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC).
• Provide leadership in crisis response, and support for staff managing patients with active mental health or substance use issues.
• Assist in the development of trauma-informed policies to support diverse staff and patients across cultures, genders, races, and sexual orientations.
• Participate in the program's weekly behavioral health team meetings and peer supervision.
• Provide administrative coverage on weekends / holidays as needed.
• Document activities for grants and special projects as directed by leadership.
• Attend Quality and Efficiency meetings and conduct peer reviews.
• Assist Director of Behavioral Health with scheduling patients for neuropsychological testing.
• Perform additional duties as required to support the team and program goals.
