Position Overview

The Valance Maker 1 is responsible for sewing all valance top treatments in a production environment. This role involves receiving fabric, checking measurements, sewing, and pressing top treatments while adhering to quality, safety, and housekeeping standards. The position requires attention to detail, proficiency with industrial sewing machines and hand tools, and the ability to perform repetitive motions, stand for extended periods, and lift continuously. Safety compliance and following instructions are essential. This role helps the team meet production goals and maintain high standards, directly supporting the department's performance.

What you'll do

• Receive fabric from the Top Treatment Cutter and verify measurements on work tickets.
• Sew valance top treatments accurately using industrial sewing machines.
• Iron and press top treatments to ensure a finished, professional appearance.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to maintain production standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety rules.
• Operate hand tools and production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses to supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
