Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE : The Accompanist provides piano accompaniment for music students.

Essential Job Functions :

• Provides piano accompaniment for music students for individual rehearsals and vocal performance classes
• Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities :

• Skilled pianist
• Extensive knowledge of vocal repertoire
• Excellent sight-reading ability
• Cheerful and positive demeanor

Physical Abilities : The work is sedentary.

Work Schedule And Conditions :

• Equipment used includes a PC workstation, calculator, phone, and a piano
• Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
• Work is performed in a climate-controlled office and / or theater environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Music or related field and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience in a higher education setting
• Previous experience working with students who have unique barriers and experience in assisting these students with their educational success

Salary : Hourly Pay Rate is $42.40.
