ICU RN – Unit Overview
Beds : 4 | Ratios : 1 : 2
Certifications : BLS, ACLS (Preferred : TNCC, PALS)
Experience : ICU required | First-time travelers accepted
Common Diagnoses : DKA, Septic Shock, ETOH withdrawal, Hypoxemia, ARDS, COVID
Drips (Titrated) : Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Precedex, Fentanyl, Insulin, Esmolol, Versed, Ketamine, etc.
Support & Staffing
Charge Nurse : Yes (covers MS / IMCU / ICU, no assignment unless needed)
Nurse Aides : Yes, shared with MS
Hospitalist 24 / 7 | Intensivist : M–F 8–5, Telemedicine after hours / weekends
RT : 24 / 7
Monitor Techs : Yes – must interpret tele (Mindray)
Schedule : 7a–7 : 30p or 7p–7 : 30a | 2-week block | Nights grouped 3–4 in a row
Weekends : Every other | Holidays : Rotation if scheduled
Floating : To IMCU / MS (full assignment); possible ED if experienced
Scrubs : Any color
Orientation : 1–2 shifts with preceptor
Call : None
Notes : 40-bed Level IV trauma community hospital | Small facility — must function independently and with limited resources.
