Compliance Coordinator

The Compliance Coordinator will complete key administrative, operational, and project management functions associated with state authorizations for new program launches and other compliance related initiatives and projects. The Compliance Coordinator will support internal teams and University partners on state-specific requirements for offering online programs and courses to a national audience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Facilitating the state authorization process by preparing and submitting applications and other reports to U.S. state regulators
  • Interfacing with 50+ U.S. state jurisdictions, University partners and internal stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with state higher education personnel, University partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitoring federal and state laws affecting the education industry and collaborating with the management team to report relevant updates to appropriate stakeholders
  • Assisting with the review, development and drafting of internal documents
  • Managing, prioritizing, and completing multiple complex projects simultaneously in an efficient and timely manner
  • Assisting with other compliance initiatives, projects and day to day administrative support

Things that should be in your background :

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, prioritize and complete complex concurrent projects based on deadlines set by state authorities
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws affecting the education industry
  • Knowledge of web applications, Zoom, Adobe, Microsoft software, and Google Workspace
  • Other attributes that will help you in this role :

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in higher education, state authorization, and / or regulatory compliance is strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience developing and sustaining collaborative relationships with multiple University administrative personnel and federal, state and local regulatory agency personnel is strongly preferred
  • Experience interpreting or administering federal and state laws and regulations preferred
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives
  • Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated self initiative
  • Working conditions :

    This is a 6-month contract role open only to candidates based in South Africa who are available to work the night shift (3 PM11 PM SAST) to align with U.S. business hours (9 AM5 PM EST).
