Rigger Foreman
The Rigger Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activity of Rigger workers to ensure that work is done safely, correctly and timely. Must have knowledge of complex rigging, heavy rigging, change crane boom and cable, electrical safety, ladder and scaffold safety, introduction to lifting machinery, wire rope basics, basic rigging, fire prevention, sizing of chokers, load charts, cutting torches, and basic knowledge of blueprint reading. It is highly recommended that all riggers obtain a certification form a nationally recognized organization such as, but not limited to NCCER. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the quality of all work to ensure standards and specifications are met
- Assist workers in their duties and resolve problems
- Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations
- Be involved and have comprehension of lift plans
- Load, transport, unload, and assist in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved
- Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials
- Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment
- Assist other craft workers as needed
