About The Position

Must-Have : Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts.
Description :
Prescreen and auto offer as long as RTO is less than 7 days and no holiday requests.
Clinician must take and pass dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract.
If clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, then they will be disqualified for 6 months.
Candidates may not have been full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility in the past year.
The unit consists of a variety of critical care beds.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 1-2 in ICU per acuity / staffing, and 1 : 3-4 in PCU.
Required certifications include BLS and ACLS.
Common diagnoses and types of patients include COVID, manual proning, low-level neuro, EVD, DKA, sepsis, PN, ARF, CRRT, rhabdo, post-MI, detox, chest tubes, art line, and SWAN.
Experience with fresh open heart patients is preferred if the candidate can demonstrate the necessary skills.
Nurses should be able to interpret ABGs and have good EKG reading skills.
Nurses will need experience with weaning and troubleshooting ventilators.
All critical care drips must be titrated.
Charge nurses may take an assignment only as a last resort.
Intensivists are in-house 24 / 7 for support.
Respiratory therapy covers all areas, but is not present in the ICU 24 / 7.
Nurses are expected to monitor telemetries.
Schedules are made four weeks in advance and some self-scheduling is permitted.
Weekend requirements include four weekend shifts per pay period.
Holidays will require working one holiday and one eve of another holiday.
If census is low, travelers may be placed on call but this is not scheduled.
Floating may occur to other units and rotations may happen as needed.
Professional scrub attire is required, and specific colors will be followed.
Orientation consists of general and unit-specific training with preceptors.
The cancellation policy applies, with stipulations for shifts per contract.
Charting systems utilized include electronic documentation platforms.
A BSN is preferred but not required.
The role takes place in an acute care setting.
