- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday : 2 : 30 PM - 5 : 30 PM (Program 3 : 00-5 : 00 PM)
- Wednesday : 12 : 30 PM - 5 : 30 PM
- Approximately : 17 hours per week during school year

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with elementary-aged children and creating engaging, safe, and nurturing learning environments outside of the traditional school day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Program Operations
Set up and prepare daily activity spaces and materials before scholar arrivalClean up and properly store materials and equipment at the end of each sessionTrack and maintain accurate attendance records for scholars entering and exiting the programPrepare, set up, and distribute afternoon snacks in accordance with dietary restrictions and safety guidelines ensuring proper record keeping and practices according to the After School Snack Program as a part of the National School Lunch ProgramActivity Leadership & Enrichment
Plan, schedule, and lead age-appropriate enrichment activities that engage elementary scholarsDevelop activities that support social-emotional learning and age-appropriate developmentFoster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and creativityAdapt activities to meet diverse learning needs and interestsBehavior Management & Student Support
Implement and reinforce behavior expectations and routines consistent with the regular school dayUse positive behavior management strategies to create a respectful and safe environmentSupport scholars in developing social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulationCommunicate effectively with scholars to build positive relationshipsField Trips & Special Events
Plan and coordinate at least one educational field trip per quarterComplete all required paperwork, permission slips, and safety documentation for field tripsManage logistics including transportation arrangements, chaperone coordination, and budget considerations in partnership with the After School Program Manager and Operations staffEnsure all safety protocols and procedures are followed during off-site activitiesCommunication & Documentation
Communicate with parents / guardians as necessary regarding scholar participation, behavior, and program updatesMaintain organized records and documentation for program complianceFollow up on outstanding permission slips, medical forms, and other required documentationCollaborate with school staff and administration as neededQualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalentExperience working with elementary-aged children (ages 5-11)Ability to pass background check and fingerprintingCurrent First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)Strong organizational and time management skillsExcellent communication skills with children, parents, and staffReliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full school year schedulePreferred
Previous experience in after-school programs, summer camps, or classroom settingsKnowledge of social-emotional learning frameworks and trauma-informed practicesBilingual skills (Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, or other languages spoken by our community)Experience planning and leading field trips or off-site activitiesPhysical Requirements
