The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. This is a full time position Monday-Friday with hours as early as 7 : 45 AM to as late as 8 : 00 PM in assigned staggered shifts with other team members. These shifts change depending on provider and patient demand. The ideal medical assistant would be flexible week to week with what their schedule will be and have the ability to keep up with the fast-paced work environment and continuous rooming of patients.

Essential Functions :

  • Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms
  • Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating
  • Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
  • Counseling patients by transmitting physician’s orders, questions about the treatment, and explaining medications
  • Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
  • Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
  • Utilize EMR to input chief complaints and medical histories
  • Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in administrative tasks
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer / client service and response
  • Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    • Requirements :

    Education and Experience :

  • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
  • One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
