    • Job Summary :

    A facility in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Registered Nurse (Peds RN) for a 13-week long-term assignment in the Peds Inpatient Acute Care Unit . This crucial role focuses on providing specialized, high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with diverse medical and surgical needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in acute pediatric nursing and the ability to manage complex cases efficiently during the day shift.

    Key Responsibilities & Unit Details :

  • Unit Focus : Peds Inpatient Acute Care. The RN will provide direct care to children and adolescents requiring acute medical or post-surgical attention.
  • Patient Care : Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions for pediatric patients.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with pediatricians, specialists, child life specialists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and family-centered care.
  • Safety & Education : Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and safe discharge instructions. Adhere strictly to pediatric safety standards and medication administration protocols.

    • Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Experience : A minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Pediatric Registered Nurse is required.
  • Licensure : Must possess an Active RN License (Maryland license or Compact license).
  • Certifications : Current BLS and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications are typically required for this setting (PALS highly recommended or mandatory upon submission).
  • Skills : Proficiency in IV insertion, pain management, and handling common pediatric medical conditions (e.g., respiratory distress, dehydration, post-surgical recovery).
