Description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a talented Senior System Engineer to contribute to the HEITS Contract as part of the Department of Homeland Security's Insider Threat Program. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in cybersecurity infrastructure design and development. The Insider Threat Program aims to detect and mitigate insider threats within the DHS, ensuring the safety and security of our homeland.

Your key responsibilities will include :

  • Designing and implementing new architectures to enhance the Insider Threat Program's infrastructure.
  • Maintaining an architectural roadmap to guide the evolution of the program.
  • Evaluating changes for functional, security, and cost implications.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions and strategies.
  • Documenting configurations to capture the baseline effectively.
  • Managing performance metrics to track the efficacy of the program.
  • Creating presentations and materials to communicate design and functionality to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 13+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in operating systems : Windows Server and Linux (RHEL).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Proficient in scripting and automation tools : PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Terraform.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools including Splunk, Nagios, Prometheus, and the ELK Stack.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
  • Understanding of backup and disaster recovery systems.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management solutions (IAM), Active Directory, and LDAP.
  • Solid grasp of defense-in-depth principles and network security architecture.
  • Knowledge of NIST, STIGS, FISMA, or FedRAMP standards and experience applying security hardening techniques.
  • Understanding of zero-trust architecture and secure system design principles.
  • Ability to acquire DHS EOD SCI clearance.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in IT Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in IT service delivery management.
  • Experience with User Activity Monitoring products and platforms.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Networking concepts.
  • Experience with on-premise systems infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

    This position is based in the U.S. and may require you to be present at our specified location.

    Pay Range : $148,850.00 - $269,075.00. Compensation is determined based on various factors, including responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity.
