The Home Dialysis Educator provides initial and ongoing professional training and education for facility staff. Will also serve as a part-time / back-up Home Therapies (PD) Nurse .
Schedule : Fulltime, Monday through Friday; on call as needed
Compensation : Pay range from $40-$46 per hour, depending on dialysis experience

Responsibilities
What You Can Expect as a Nurse Educator :
Develop unit-specific policies and procedures with guidance from medical director and clinic managerLead classroom theory training for patient care staff new to dialysisVerify new staff competencies before assigning additional independent tasksOversee preceptor program and report progressEducate staff on new and existing clinic policies and proceduresAdminister annual competency testing of all patient care staff, and if needed, provide additional training to those not meeting requirementsAudit medical records, infection control and regulatory compliance annually and develop a corrective plan for any deficienciesMonitor and track licensure and certifications for all disciplinesCoordinate or facilitate CPR certification classesWhat You Can Expect as a Home Therapies Nurse :
Collaborate with medical team on patient care concerns, hospitalizations, discharges and / or modality changes, etc.Coordinate home training sessions, clinic visits, patient care conferences, home visits and all clinical and educational activities to assure efficient and productive use of nursing hours and program facilitiesMonitor patient supply ordering and usage while maintaining quality careCommunicate regularly regarding home program activities with interdisciplinary care teamMonitor ongoing patient care parametersPerform all registered nurse functions and dutiesCreate and maintain appropriate record keeping, patient training and documentation in accordance with ESRD Network, regulatory agencies, DCI CQI program and the dialysis facility's policies and procedures
