Position Summary
MS Consulting Firm is seeking a Dental Assistant on behalf of a valued pediatric dental client with multiple locations in the Greater Orlando area. This position is based primarily at the Lake Nona location, with occasional coverage opportunities at sister offices in nearby areas.
The ideal candidate will be compassionate, adaptable, and dedicated to supporting a child-friendly environment. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to patient care, and a team-oriented mindset. Prior pediatric dental experience and treatment assistance are preferred but not required; comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and dental instruments in full compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and ADA standards.
- Assist pediatric dentists during dental examinations, restorative procedures, and specialty treatments.
- Obtain and update medical and dental histories for patients and families in the practice management system.
- Capture, process, and mount dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed.
- Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings) under supervision in accordance with Florida state guidelines.
- Provide clear pre- and post-treatment instructions to patients and guardians.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and positive engagement before, during, and after dental visits.
- Educate children and families on proper oral hygiene practices and nutritional awareness.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories following clinical protocols.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient documentation and uphold privacy requirements.
- Monitor and replenish supplies to ensure readiness across operatories and sterilization areas.
- Adhere to established safety, compliance, and infection control procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with the dental team to enhance workflow efficiency and patient experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; Dental Assistant certification preferred.Experience : Previous dental assisting experience preferred; pediatric dental experience a plus.Licensure / Certification : Current Florida Dental Radiography Certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.Technical Skills : Familiarity with dental software systems and digital x-ray technology preferred.Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Work Flexibility : Willingness to work across multiple practice locations as needed.Language Skills : Bilingual proficiency (English / Spanish) is helpful but not required.Other Requirements : Reliable transportation, punctuality, professionalism, and full adherence to state and federal regulatory standards, including OSHA, HIPAA, and ADA.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement
