Role and Responsibilities

The Fabrication manager is responsible for managing CAPEX, repairs, and modifications of dredge / marine construction and associated equipment while maintaining a budget for each. Responsible for ordering all the required supplies to complete duties, hiring and firing of the crews, as well as maintaining the necessary workshop equipment. Test and if necessary, train employees to perform their duties in a safe and productive manner.

This position will be under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Technical.

• Maintain and manage detailed budgets for all projects / work orders, and track labor cost per project.
• Maintain Excel project / work order list; prioritize and plan work activities to meet deadlines.
• Manage contract labor workforce, review and submit weekly timesheets, and approve invoices.
• Order all supplies and equipment necessary to complete the projects in a safe and timely manner.
• Test and train personnel as required.
• Maintain all the shop equipment and supplies.
• Understand and enforce safety, quality control, and production expectations.
• Oversee the day-to-day shop operations; work towards increasing the efficiency of operation and scheduling production
• Participates in safety and environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance with State / Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
