Position Summary
The Supply Chain Intern is responsible for maintaining product-planning strategies that will ensure efficient throughput, maximize inventory utilization at all levels, satisfy customer demand, and maximize return on assets.
This position will be based in Metamora, OH and will report to the Division Materials Manager.
Responsibilities
Responsible for Managing Pull Systems, Inventory Control, and Customer Service Performance.
Planning
Refresh kanban loops and execute physical adjustments on manufacturing floor.
Audit kanban system and adjust as required.
Update work orders.
Inventory
Use visual management techniques for improved inventory management and reorder points.
Inventory reduction monitor and manage inventory turns to meet plan.
Perform cycle counts as needed.
Customer Service
Monitor customer request dates.
Review for exceptions or delivery problems.
Supplier Relations
Releasing kanban signal to supplier via purchase order.
Participate in decision-making regarding supplier issues.
Update annual purchase orders.
Process supplier returns.
Process and send supplier forecasts.
Execute MRP exception messages and updated purchase orders respectively.
Additional
Support and participate in Lean, HPT and Kaizen activities.
Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.
Qualifications
Education
Currently enrolled in a Supply Chain Management Bachelor's Degree program.
Must be a Junior or Senior status with GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Basic understanding of supply chain processes.
Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
Must have intermediate computer skills and be able to understand of electronic processing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and data analytics / Power BI.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
