Position Title : Box Truck Driver & Receiver
Employment Type : Full-Time
Reports To : Supply Chain Manager
Position Summary :
The Box Truck Driver & Receiver Associate is responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles for pickup and delivery to customers, suppliers, and outside processors. This role also supports receiving, and processing logistics, including handling materials and utilizing equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, adheres to safety standards, and provides prompt and courteous service, while supporting warehouse and production functions as needed. Approximately 80% of the role involves driving a box truck, while 20% involves administrative tasks, such as entering received orders into the system using a computer.
Key Responsibilities :
Driving & Delivery :
Operate box trucks and motor vehicles to transport goods between company facilities, vendors, and customers.
Ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery and pickup of shipments.
Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate courteous, customer-focused service at all times.
Report any driving incidents, traffic violations, mechanical issues, or safety concerns to management immediately.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and DOT / state / federal driving laws.
Receiving & Outside Processing :
Prepare shipments, verify orders, and assist with packaging, labeling, and documentation.
Load and unload trucks using hand trucks, forklifts, and other handling equipment.
Coordinate with outside processors and dispatch materials accordingly.
Use ERP systems to receive incoming products.
Track incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate records and timely processing.
Follow established guidelines and rely on standard procedures under moderate supervision.
General & Miscellaneous Duties :
Assist with customer complaints or disputes in a friendly and solution-oriented manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or director to support logistics, manufacturing, or warehouse operations.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, both inside and outside, in varying environmental conditions.
Qualifications :
Valid CT driver’s license with a clean driving record.
3+ years of experience driving box trucks.
3+ years of experience in a shipping / receiving or dispatch / logistics role, preferably in manufacturing.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Forklift license and experience preferred.
Previous experience in manufacturing-related industry preferred.
Good communication skills and proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Ability to lift, push, pull, or move items up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to stand, bend, and lift intermittently for shifts of 8+ hours.
Must be at least 18 years old.
