Unit : Transplant / Stepdown Unit (PCU)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : November 10, 2025

End Date : February 9, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470 - $1570

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Colorado or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry RN experience

Experience with Heparin infusions and PCA pumps required

BLS certification (AHA) required

Strong communication and multi-tasking skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

Stepdown / PCU nursing experience and solid organ transplant (kidney, liver, or pancreas) experience preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU / stepdown patients, including post-transplant care

Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage infusions (Heparin, PCA)

Perform wound and drain care (wound vac, chest tube, JP drains)

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes

Utilize clinical equipment such as bladder scanners, EKG machines, AccuVein, and patient lifts

Document care and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR

Maintain a patient ratio of 1 : 3-4 for individualized nursing care
