The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes that support the production of products in assembly. This position utilizes a technical skill set to ensure the manufacturing process meets customer requirements and applies Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate non-value-added activities.

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes that support the production of products in assembly. This position utilizes a technical skill set to ensure the manufacturing process meets customer requirements and applies Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate non-value-added activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure new and existing processes are safe for employees, ergonomically correct, and compliant with OSHA requirements.
• Justify, install, and qualify capital equipment.
• Layout efficient, line-balanced production work cells to meet customer demand.
• Collaborate with Tool Designers to layout jig and fixture design.
• Initiate and implement Engineering Change Orders.
• Analyze and plan workforce utilization.
• Lead improvement teams in developing current and future state value stream mapping.
• Implement improvement projects using Six Sigma, 5-S, Standard Work, and other Continuous Improvement tools.
• Consult with Project Engineers on design for manufacturing of customer products.
• Confer with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange for purchase of materials and parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Serve as the leader of the technical team in the fab area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00 / hr.
