PayPal Payment Ecosystem Analyst

Our team works cross-functionally to make sure PayPal is maximizing its relationship across the payment ecosystem players, including networks, acquirers, processors, financial institutions, and other partners. We provide detailed analytic support that are critical to business decisions and serve as thought partners across product, legal, business, and finance to make sure PayPal is driving winning outcomes across payment partners.
This role will work on understanding the payment ecosystem and work on analytics and reporting tied with the ecosystem. The individual will work alongside with business, product, finance, and other teams to drive key impact of payment partners. Primary goal would be to understand how the transaction expense trends are by different Processors, Acquirers, Networks, and Issuers by different regions. Develop reporting and monitoring for KPIs in the ecosystem model, deep dive analysis to drive business decision, and create business cases for commercial discussions with payment partners. The individual will strive for operational efficiencies for the team.
Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of payments and fintech, analytical, ability to use large datasets to drive information for a broad audience. Contribute to negotiations and the ability to navigate complex commercial models (pricing, optimization, etc). Develop analysis that provide detailed insights to support negotiations. We're looking for a strong individual contributor who can take on complex problem statements, collaborate across the company to build KPIs, communicate effectively with senior leadership, and operationalize the commercial outcomes.

Your day to day Responsibilities include :
Become a domain expert in PayPal Payments and conduct rigorous data analysis to help improve transaction expense and understand eco-system performance.
Lead business and financial analysis on new business initiatives to understand and prioritize opportunities.
Provide operational support for business needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business dynamics and adopt a data-driven approach to create impactful stories that influence stakeholders.
Provide analytical support and data insights to enable informed decision-making process.
Develop automated reporting and monitor KPIs for the payment ecosystem (Network, Acquirers, Processors & Issuers).
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within business, product, finance, and other functional teams. Engage in the cadence / process of interactions, be a team player, and a positive influence on others.
Take full ownership of responsibilities, including developing quick and effective solutions as needed.
Develop, automate, and maintain solutions using Tableau / Power BI and ensure timeliness and accuracy of metrics in the solutions.
Manage contract reporting and socialize with both internal and external stakeholders.
What do you need to bring :
7 to 10 years of experience in business analytics, finance, payments, research experience.
An understanding of payments product & technology is preferred and will go a long way in the success of this role.
Experience with data aggregation using SQL (Google Bigquery, Teradata, MySQL etc.), flat file or json payload handling through programmatic code along with database experience.
Fluent in Excel; experience with a statistical programming language (e.g., Python, R), and / or web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
Experience in visualization tools and building visuals through Tableau and / or Power BI etc.
Successful candidates will possess exceptional business judgment, strong analytic skills, and superb communication skills. They must have a passion for living in the data and be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get into the details of the analysis, as well as being able to synthesize and provide high-level thought leadership.
Proven track record of utilizing a data-driven approach to solve ambiguous business problems and delivering business and operational impact.
Requires strong technical and analytical skills to translate complex transactional data into valuable and insightful information.
Versatility in navigating a complex & matrixed corporate environment while juggling multiple responsibilities. A collaborative mindset is essential.
Must be proactive, resourceful, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.

Bachelor's / Master's degree preferably in a quantitative field (statistics / Finance / Analytics / Data Science).
