Job Overview
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) provide hands-on care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This entry-level position is ideal for CNAs looking to expand their experience in a supportive and team-focused environment. Under the supervision of licensed staff, CNA's help promote independence, dignity, and quality of life through direct care, skill-building, and active treatment programming.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meals.
Support individuals in learning and maintaining daily living skills.
Follow individualized treatment plans and behavioral strategies.
Participate in and lead recreational and community activities.
Maintain a clean, safe, and normalized living environment.
Monitor and document progress, behavior, and health changes.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and required trainings.
Safely operate facility vehicles and equipment (training provided).
Requirements
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
Must complete 60 hours of in-service training (within first 6 months).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or ¼ of body weight (whichever is less).
Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
Valid driver’s license preferred (or as required by the facility).
Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and teamwork.
Additional Information
Ongoing training and professional development provided.
Participation in committees, shift meetings, and other staff activities required.
Duties and responsibilities may be adjusted as needed by the Administrator.
