About the Job

The Veterinary Technician position will assist the hospital in delivering excellent care to all of our patients within the hospital. Perform Veterinary Technician duties pursuant to Veterinary Emergency Care @Lowry Technician Protocols. Embodies the culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets. How you'll make a difference :

• Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
• Provide all technical support to primary emergency veterinarian
• Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients including critical care patients
• Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
• Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
• Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
• Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiograph while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
• Properly use and maintain medical equipment
• Provide professional client communication

Schedule : Sunday through Wednesday, 9 : 00pm - 7 : 00am Salary : $23.00 - $27.00 / hour, based on experience (this pay range includes the $4 / hr overnight differential)
