Patient Scheduler - Cancer Care
Perform multiple functions associated with pre-registration; pre-certification; benefits verification; beneficiary out of pocket verification. Schedule patients for outpatient diagnostic testing. Gather demographic and financial information pertinent for the outpatient visit to enable customer satisfaction and HMH financial viability. Responsible for the collection of referrals and / or authorizations as needed to meet the ever-changing payer requirements. Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and / or regulatory agencies. Should relate well with the public, physicians and / or their office staff, co-workers and employees in various areas of the HMH organization.
Job Description
Responsible and accountable for daily operations of Medical Oncology Clinic office activities. Assists with the financial management of the department to include verification and entry of patient charges and maintains patient profiles. Work closely with medical staff, other medical personnel, intra and interdepartmental personnel to provide accurate and timely scheduling of oncology clinic patients. Responsible for scheduling all appointments. Responsible for coordinating patient flow. Maintain office supplies.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and previous experience in scheduling or as a department secretary preferred. Recent experience in specialty preferred.
