Job Description :

Job Summary : To maintain, repair, and install electrical, fire, and security alarm systems and components and provide general maintenance services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Maintain, repair, and install power distribution systems; may include distribution and branch panels, feeders, branch wiring, lighting fixtures, wiring devices, motors, starters, and controls.
• Maintain, repair, and install basic communication and specialty systems; may include fire alarms, smoke detectors, and emergency lighting.
• Analyze malfunctioning of electrical equipment and systems using ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, drawings, and visual inspection.
• Perform preventative maintenance of electrical equipment; may include alarm tests and documentation.
• Order needed parts and materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, sketches, technical manuals, and job specifications.
• Replace and / or install lights and bulbs.

Supervision Received : Assignments and administrative supervision are received from the Assistant Vice President and / or his designee(s). Supervision Exercised : May be responsible for student employees assigned to them.

Minimum Qualifications :

Working Conditions : Subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes. Subject to potential hazards such as electrical currents, moving parts, high places, and power tools.
