Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 Trauma and strong scrub and circulate skills for a 13-week contract in Illinois.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital Operating Room within a Level 1 Trauma CenterDay shift schedule of 5x8s, 6 : 30 AM to 3 : 00 PM, with no block schedulingRequired to work every other weekend, two weekends per monthOne 12-hour on-call shift per month on a weekend, either 7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM, with no weekday callMandatory float to other units or facilities within 50 miles may be requiredPatient cases include Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General SurgeryPreferred cases include Neurosurgery, Open Heart / Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and GynecologyUses Cerner for charting; experience preferredExpected to provide direct perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in a fast-paced trauma environmentNavy blue scrubs are providedParking is available for a fee with shuttle transportation to the facilityNo block scheduling or special schedule requests allowedTime off requests are limited to 5 days total, with a maximum of 2 consecutive days; no RTO allowed on weekends, holidays, or immediately before / after holidaysStrict compliance deadlines and documentation requirements prior to orientationTeam-based support structure in place when floating outside of primary competency areaRequirements
Active IL RN license in hand at time of applicationCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum of 2 years recent acute OR experience, including Level 1 Trauma Center exposureStrong scrub and circulate skills requiredExperience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery requiredMust provide proof of COVID vaccination prior to start dateMust reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered localBenefits
