Davidson is actively seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This essential role is part of an innovative product development program; the selected candidate will drive advancements in automated Fire Control algorithms deployed in containerized service architecture. Our collaborative environment fosters innovation, with cross-functional teams of experts in Modeling & Simulation (M&S), Optimization, AI / Data Analytics, and more pushing technological boundaries.
Job Responsibilities :
Automated Fire Control Algorithm Development : Develop and integrate advanced automated Fire Control algorithms to optimize engagement strategies and maintain high interception success rates. Ensure algorithms can seamlessly operate within a containerized service architecture.Target-Object-Map (TOM) Development : Design and implement sophisticated mechanisms for generating and updating the Target-Object-Map, facilitating real-time scenario understanding and decision-making in missile defense operations.In-Flight Target Update (IFTU) Development : Lead the development of algorithms and components for in-flight target updates, ensuring high-precision tracking and interception capabilities in dynamic threat environments.Requirements Generation and Analysis : Generate and analyze system requirements to ensure comprehensive coverage of operational needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and validate requirements, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and system capabilities.Validation and Verification : Conduct rigorous validation and verification of system components to ensure they meet operational and performance requirements. Develop test plans and procedures to systematically test and evaluate system performance and reliability.Collaboration and Integration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate tracking, TOM, IFTU, and Fire Control components into existing missile defense systems. Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) to gather requirements and ensure alignment with customer needs.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing : Create comprehensive documentation for system requirements, validation and verification procedures, testing results, and integration plans. Mentor and coach junior engineers in systems engineering best practices and career growth.Job Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.10+ years of related work experience.Extensive experience in system-level tracking, targeting algorithms, and missile defense operations.Proven experience in requirements generation, analysis, validation, verification, and testing.Experience in software development for defense-related applications and conducting software qualification testing.Ability to work collaboratively on system requirements with cross-functional teams.Desired Competencies :
Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.15+ years of related work experience.Understanding of DevSecOps practices and the ability to identify optimization opportunities within the software development lifecycle.Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning algorithms relevant to missile defense.Clearance Requirements :
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
