Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a Maine or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environmentNight shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 00 amCare provided to patients across all age groups13-week assignment termProvide comprehensive initial and ongoing nursing assessments for emergency patientsDeliver care and education to patients and families in accordance with hospital policiesParticipate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency management drillsMaintain a safe and organized work environmentResponsible for medication administration and accurate documentationMay be exposed to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, and toxic cleaning chemicalsReport to Human Resources on day 1 for onboardingFacility may cancel up to 3 shifts within the 12-week contractProfessional behavior promoting the hospital and colleagues is expectedRequirements
Active ME or compact RN licenseMinimum of 1 year of recent relevant nursing experienceCurrent, unexpired BLS certification requiredACLS certification preferredImmunizations required : varicella (2 doses or titer), HepB (3 doses or titer or declination), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, PPD 2 step or titer within past 12 months, and flu shot during flu seasonAbility to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs and moving patients in wheelchairs and stretchersBSN preferredStrong problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skillsBenefits
