Dining Service Operator, Private Club

The Lakota Club in central Vermont is seeking a dining operator who, as an independent contractor, will oversee and execute all dining operations including menu planning, purchasing, menu execution, kitchen management, front of house, reservations, and service. The dining service operator must have a strong work ethic, a high degree of integrity, and be dedicated to preparing and serving meals made with fresh, in-season, local, ingredients.

Lakota, established in 1891, is a small private club of seventy members and their families located high in the hills on a lake reserved for fly-fishing, surrounded by 750 acres of pristine woodlands and mountain ridges. The historic clubhouse features a reception room, lounge, dining rooms, porch, and guest rooms for overnight lodging. The kitchen, renovated in 2024, provides a clean, crisp, bright environment in which to work. The region is noted for its beautiful countryside, small farms and specialty food producers, picturesque villages, and recreational activities such as hiking, swimming, trail running, skiing, kayaking, and mountain biking.

The Lakota Club is seeking an experienced, motivated individual who values the quality of life that living in the country provides. The position is for six months, May through October. Seasonal or year-long lodging for the dining service operator and his / her / their family in a new two-bedroom house on the property is provided. There is also potential for gardening, growing vegetables and herbs, and more. The ideal candidate would have strong interest in growing with us and becoming a long-term part of the Lakota Club family.
