Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Senior Instrument Engineer is a staff function with no direct reports. The role is a key member of the I&PC department with many interfaces within the plant and outside the facility with vendors and other partners. Additionally, the role is a member of the Extended Leadership Team for the department. Interpersonal skills, negotiating skills, networking ability and the ability to manage multiple interfaces with varying needs and priorities are critical factors for this position. The client is wanting to hire a local Houston, TX area applicant. No relocation is provided. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Ø Prioritizing demands from multiple internal stakeholders (e.g., Projects, Contracts & Procurement, discipline managers) while engaging and communicating with them on progress and priorities. Demands also include those originating from external sources such as manufacturers or industry partners (e.g., AFPM).Ø Developing strategic initiatives and tools applicable across the entire plant to improve HSSE and reliability performance (e.g., Predictive Monitoring, Emerson AMS, Emerson PlantWeb Optics).Ø Supporting the run and maintain organization in deployment of technology and training across the complex.Ø Supporting the SIS work process to ensure SIS components perform their intended safety function upon demand.Ø Improving test procedures by addressing testing strategies, test coverages, and digitalization opportunities.Ø Working effectively across multiple levels of the organization and helping deliver the plant’s short- and medium-term goals.Ø Serving as role model / mentor by demonstrating technical and safety leadership, ownership, and positive behaviors.Ø Prioritizing demands from multiple internal stakeholders (e.g., Projects, Contracts & Procurement, discipline managers) while engaging and communicating with them on progress and priorities.
