The Position
This role supports areas of field Service operation within Sungrow USA related to commissioning, warranty, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the expanding installed sites in the region.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of technical assignments involving the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of string and central solar inverter and / or BESS Systems, PCS, batteries, and ancillary equipment.
- Perform general troubleshooting and diagnosis under Sungrow's maintenance and repair guidelines.
- Support and perform pre-commissioning (with and without grid emulator) and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems within schedule and work plans
- Perform Preventive Maintenance and other Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) activities per the contract
- Investigate solar plant issues such as DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
- Provide feedback to the engineering and project team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements.
- Lead upgrade / rework projects (software and hardware) in the field and interact with customers to explain the project's technical scope and manage work schedule and commitments.
- Work with customer SCADA engineers to set up systems communication and parameters involving Sungrow's controllers and F&G systems as needed.
- Accurately describe troubleshooting sequences and procedures which they have observed
- Identify and document basic mechanical and electrical issues and problems
- Perform basic corrective maintenance
- Create / modify Field Service procedures for safety troubleshooting and maintenance if required.
- Prepare and submit own Daily Activity Reports and Daily JSA Reports.
- Work independently in the field and with Design Engineers to resolve high-level technical issues, support the investigation of the root cause for technology applications for complex projects
- Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines to maintain the solar plant operations.
- Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Follow level-appropriate standard operating procedures.
Own creation and submission of all field paperwork and documentation for full compliance with site documentation and project requirement
Serve as a safety second if needed.
Education Or Desired License And Certificates
Associate's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college
