As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmology clinics. Your responsibilities will include :

• Patient Work-Up : Conduct basic patient assessments, including visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, and dilation.
• Testing and Evaluation : Perform a range of tests such as confrontation visual fields, cover testing, and versions, and assist in manifest refractions.
• Patient Interaction : Greet patients warmly, explain testing procedures, answer questions, and provide necessary education.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with our clinical support team and providers to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
• Safety and Compliance : Maintain a safe work environment by recognizing and addressing common safety hazards.
• Documentation : Utilize our EMR system to accurately record patient data and ensure it's ready for provider review.

Qualifications

Education : High school diploma is required; some college or a degree is preferred. Certification as a COA or COT is a plus.

Experience : 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
