Optomitrist Assistant Tasks & Duties

Answer the phone in a timely manner and direct calls to the correct offices

Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive and direct them to where they need to go

Complete prescreening with patients prior to doctor visit

Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls

Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone / email

Monitor front desk and comply with HIPAA requirements

Update calendars and schedule meetings

Keep updated records of office expenses and costs

Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing

Optomitrist Assistant Shift Info

Day Shift, 8 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm Monday - Thursday and 8 : 00 am to 12 : 00 pm Friday

Optomitrist Assistant Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

Optometrist Assistant experience preferred

GED / High School Diploma

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Able to pass a background check

Able to work in the US

Exceptional customer service skills and professional phone manner

Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)

Professional attitude and appearance

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

Excellent organizational skills

Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

Customer service attitude

Able to pass a background check

Able to work in the US
