Concrete Journeyman Responsibilities

In this role, you may perform any combination of tasks to assist on the construction site. This position includes a wide variety of duties and tasks that often require assisting other tradespeople, including laborers and carpenters.

Job duties include :

• Setting up the forms for edge of slab, sidewalks or walls.
• Building forms
• Pouring concrete raking to proper grade.
• Grading and prepping subgrade
• Spreading and smoothing concrete.
• Tooling expansion joints and edges.
• Using stains or colors to add the finishing touch.
• Adding small stones or other materials for decoration.
• Applying waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work.
• Install wire welded fabric or re-enforcing bar.
• Ability to operate a skid loader.
• Understand use of a laser level.

Qualifications

A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial construction is preferred. Proficiency in the use of industry tools and equipment is required. Up to date with the latest technology involving concrete work. Detail-oriented, well-organized, with an ability to multi-task. Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts. OSHA 10, preferred. Operator's certificate, preferred. Able to lift at least 35 pounds, unassisted, and stand for extended periods. Ability to adhere to job specifications and make top-class finishes in concrete work.
