Description :
The position is for a Travel RN in the ICU.
Shift hours are from 6 PM to 6 AM.
The unit has recently expanded and consists of 28 ICU beds across two pods.
Pod A opened January 2019 and has 12 beds.
Pod B has 16 beds on the second floor.
The staff consists of 42 members, including a charge nurse on both day and night shifts.
The number of nurses varies based on patient census and acuity.
Critical care techs are staffed six days a week.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1 : 2, but can be adjusted to 1 : 1 or 1 : 3 based on patient acuity.
The unit is equipped with Pyxis, Plum Pump IVs, GE bedside monitors, and more.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
The patient population includes neuro surgical and trauma cases, cardiac and respiratory arrests, and patients undergoing withdrawal from substances.
The ideal candidate should have flexibility and a positive attitude, with a focus on patient-centered care.
The staff is experienced and welcoming to travelers, creating a supportive environment.
This unit is preparing for a level II trauma survey later this year.
Intensivists are available 24 / 7 and are noted for their excellent teaching and respectful interaction with staff.
The average patient census ranges from 100 to 125.
