Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Clinical Dietitian to join our health care team. The ideal candidate will maintain availability during work hours and demonstrate a willingness to acquire new skills and accept additional work assignments. This role involves participating in patient care planning, communicating nutrition-related problems and recommendations, and educating patients and care providers on specialized nutrition programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain availability to healthcare team members and demonstrate flexibility in acquiring new skills and accepting additional work assignments.
• Participate in bedside rounds, patient care-planning rounds, or meetings, and communicate nutrition problems, concerns, and recommended interventions.
• Complete patient and care provider nutrition education and include family members or support systems to ensure optimal understanding and compliance.
• Provide reference education materials regarding specialized diet instruction and discharge plans to case managers and home care agencies.
• Document all educational activities in the medical record.
• Complete inpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments according to scheduled timeframes and implement appropriate interventions.
• Respond to referrals, consults, and requests from physicians and healthcare team members, completing assessments and determining appropriate interventions.
• Evaluate for signs and symptoms of malnutrition and communicate diagnoses and concerns with the physician and healthcare team members.
• Monitor changes in nutritional status, modifying nutrition plans or interventions as necessary.
• Ensure all required electronic and paper documentation is complete.

Work Environment

This role focuses on the Critical Care and Oral teams of the Adult Hospital. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 30 PM, with every other weekend required. The department manages 20-25 cases per week, with the current need for on-site presence. The position requires full-time hours during a four-week training period but is open to candidates looking to supplement hours or work alternative schedules. Dress code is professional attire.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Murrieta, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00 / hr.
