About the Role

As an integral part of our finance team, the Accounting Manager will support high-growth operations and ensure financial integrity across core accounting processes. Reporting to the Controller, this role will drive month-end close, manage key accounting operations, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize systems and support clinical expansion.

This is a hybrid position with 2–3 days per week onsite at our West Bloomfield headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close Support : Assist with the month-end close process by preparing and reviewing the monthly expense package to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting deadlines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline closing activities.
  • Expense Analysis and Reporting : Perform detailed expense analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization. Develop and present insightful financial reports and dashboards to management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Accounts Payable Management : Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payments, and vendor reconciliations. Implement process enhancements to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Corporate Credit Card Program : Administer the company's credit card program, including policy compliance, expense report review, and monthly reconciliations. Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to corporate spending policies.
  • Employee Reimbursements : Manage the review and approval of employee reimbursements and mileage submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Fixed Asset Management : Maintain the complete lifecycle of fixed assets, including acquisitions, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals, in alignment with accounting standards.
  • Lease Accounting : Oversee lease accounting activities, ensuring all lease agreements are accurately documented, recorded, and maintained within the Sage accounting system in compliance with ASC 842 standards.
  • Prepaid Expenses : Track, record, and reconcile prepaid expenses to ensure proper recognition and reporting in the financial statements.
  • Process Improvement : Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls across accounting operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proven experience in managing Accounts Payable and credit card programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform detailed expense analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
