Overview

The Merchandiser at The Estancia Club plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional experience to our esteemed Members and Guests. Beyond traditional retail responsibilities, this position focuses on cultivating a welcoming atmosphere and providing personalized service that enhances the overall club experience. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of our golf operation and upholding our commitment to excellence. The Merchandiser will report to the Director of Retail and the Director of Golf.

Experience Required

  • Experience : Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in a retail management or customer service role, preferably within a high-end or private club environment.
  • Skills : Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clientele. Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Characteristics : Service-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality. Team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Excellence :
  • Provide superior customer service tailored to the needs and preferences of Estancia Club members. Anticipate and fulfill member and guest requests promptly and courteously.
  • Act as a knowledgeable point of contact regarding merchandise offerings, club policies, and events, ensuring members receive accurate and helpful information.
  • Operational Proficiency :
  • Utilize JONAS POS system and Microsoft Office suite proficiently to process transactions, manage inventory, and generate reports as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and organized Golf Shop environment, ensuring merchandise displays are visually appealing and reflective of current trends and member preferences.
  • Merchandise Management :
  • Assist in researching, analyzing, and forecasting buying trends, market demands, and member demographics to curate a diverse and appealing merchandise selection.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Retail in the purchasing process, including selection, ordering, and receiving of inventory, while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Inventory Control :
  • Oversee monthly inventory counts to ensure accuracy within a 1% variance. Implement effective inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and minimize shrinkage.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership :
  • Work closely with the Director of Retail and other club departments to coordinate efforts and deliver seamless service experiences.
  • Lead by example with a positive attitude, fostering a collaborative and customer-focused environment among staff members.
  • Member Engagement :
  • Build rapport with members through proactive communication and personalized service, fostering long-term relationships and enhancing member satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in club events and activities to promote merchandise offerings and reinforce the club's sense of community.
  • Professionalism and Compliance :
  • Uphold professional standards in appearance, behavior, and communication, reflecting the club's values and commitment to excellence.
  • Adhere to club policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all interactions.
