The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) in conjunction with IU Health Medical Group (IUHMG), are recruiting an academic pediatric pathologist to serve the pediatric patient population of Indiana.
The individual selected will join a growing team of experienced pediatric pathologists based at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis. The IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL) is located less than a mile from Riley and is home to a large faculty of subspecialized academic pathologists, affording easy access to collaboration. This opportunity provides the unique flexibility to sign out on the adult service for those who wish to practice pediatric pathology at a dedicated children’s hospital while maintaining other subspeciality expertise. Additionally, a new onsite Maternity Tower at Riley affords opportunities for growth in perinatal / placental evaluations. The position is available on the clinical track; academic rank is determined by qualifications and level of experience.
Responsibilities :
- Deliver professional diagnostic services comprising of anatomic pathology
- Provide diagnostic services for pediatric autopsy and perinatal pathology
- Provide on-call coverage and conference support with department faculty members
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical care team
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
- Support needs of rapidly growing pediatric divisions, including prominent pediatric GI service
- Support pediatric oncology service with emerging Precision Genomics
