Who we're looking for :
TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineer to join our Track Support Department.
This position will be a long term contract role.
What you will be doing :
- Key person with direct interface to TRD race teams to assist in optimization of engine performance while remaining reliable. This includes but is not limited to EFI map tuning, simulations, pre and post-event reports, and data analysis.
- Engineering analysis and problem-solving of engine systems as related to the race cars and its intended use.
- Expertise in EFI, data acquisition, and problem diagnosis.
- Expertise in VBA, API, MATLAB, and software programming.
- Extensive travel to all NASCAR Cup events and many tests.
- Work closely with departmental associates, TRD engineering, and teams on optimization of engine systems.
This includes but not exclusively :
Validation of team parts between dyno and racetrackEngine dyno (TRD and NASCAR) and chassis dyno correlation if required.Air box and air inlet systemsCharging system and wiringExhaust system including headers and tailpipes.Water system including water pump and radiators.Oil system including filters, lines, and oil tank.Fuel system including fuel pump, filters, lines, and fuel cell.Use of approved simulation tools and reports to improve engine performance and development.What you will bring :
Minimum of 2 years of race engine EFI engine tuning experience. Direct experience with data collection and analysis of engine data.Minimum of 2 years in a track support engineering role.Minimum of 1 year engine systems development. Ability to test and analyze components or systems and generate comprehensive reports on the results.Direct experience with EFI system hardware and functionalityDirect experience with at least one type of EFI system software and basic tuningDirect experience in engine assemblyDirect experience in engine and chassis dyno operationDirect experience of race shop operations relating to engine installation into chassis.Added bonus if you have :

This position requires a high school diploma and a BS or greater in engineering.
Minimum of 1-year race engine EFI tuning experience and data analysis, NASCAR engines preferred.Minimum of 1 year of direct track support experience for a professional racing series.Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in verbal and written form.Physical Requirements :
